A better solution to SO Registry cuts that save $25 billion each year

The sex offender registry costs the government about $25 billion each year.
The registry can make no claims to ever stopping a single offender from committing another offense.
The registry is a violation of the 8th amendment “cruel and unjust punishment” protection.
In fact it is a fate worse than death for the registrant, regardless of whether they actually committed an offense.
The registrants suffer not a humane death, instead a slow, humiliating death that is worse than waterboarding because there is no escape outside of suicide.

Zachary’s Law results in too many innocent people being convicted of crimes they never committed. The alleged offender is guilty till proven innocent. More violations of the constitution.

The solution? Do the humane thing. Either a life prison sentence or death sentence for sex crimes. Zachary’s Law must be declared unconstituional as well. A person must be proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt prior to any sentence. Plea bargaining would only avert the death penalty, never to include freedom ever again save for on an island somewhere that allows them to earn their way.

No registry? No animalization of a human that might potentially drive them to insanity, shooting, suicide et al.
No registry? $25 billion dollars in reduced government spending.

A no brainer.

Joe Arpio, he is the County Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona. can we run or look into running all inmate facilaties like hiim?

Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the “tent city jail” to save Arizona from spending tens of millions of dollars on another expensive prison complex.Inmates sleep in tents!
He has jail meals down to 20 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He banned smoking and pornographic magazines in the jails, and took away their weightlifting equipment and cut off all but “G” movies. He says: “They’re in jail to pay a debt to society not to build muscles so they can assault innocent people when they leave.”
He started chain gangs to use the inmates to do free work on county and city projects and save taxpayer’s money. Men work in Pink “Clean and Sober” Shirts. Their underwear is also Pink!
Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn’t get sued for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again but only allows the Disney channel and the weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel, he replied: “So these morons will know how hot it’s gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.”

He cut off coffee because it has zero nutritional value and is therefore a waste of taxpayer money. When the inmates complained, he told them, “This isn’t the Ritz/Carlton. If you don’t like it, don’t come back.”

He also bought the Newt Gingrich lecture series on US history that he pipes into the jails. When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series that actually tells the truth for a change would be welcome and that it might even explain why 95% of the inmates were in his jails in the first place.

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record for June 2nd 2009), the Associated Press reported: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed wire surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.

On the Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing pink boxer shorts were overheard chatting in the tents, where temperatures reached 128 degrees.”This is hell. It feels like we live in a furnace,” said Ernesto Gonzales, an inmate for 2 years with 10 more to go. “It’s inhumane.”

Joe Arpaio, who makes his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. “Criminals should be punished for their crimes – not live in luxury until it’s time for parole, only to go out and commit more crimes so they can come back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things many taxpayers can’t afford to have for themselves.”

The same day he told all the inmates who were complaining of the heat in the tents: “It’s between 120 to 130 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents there too, and they have to walk all day in that sun, wearing full battle gear and getting shot at, and THEY have not committed any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!”

Mr. President,
I am a die-hard supporter of yours but, it disappoints me so much that you consistently fold to Republican pressure, you said only people 250k and under would get the tax break, now it’s being reported that you are offering 400k and under. Republicans are bullies and they obviously don’t respect you. Mr President, you have to stand your ground, negotiating does not mean that you have to be the one who always gives in, if we have to go over the cliff to only give tax breaks to the people 250k and below then, let’s do it !

Avert the fiscal cliff

It’s pretty simple. The tax hike now but allow a reduction later if republicans can close tax loopholes and if they can come up with any reduction that doesn’t hurt social program. I say lets go over the cliff if they can’t agree. I personally haven’t had to pay any taxes in years.I think I should. If the economy shows signs of slowing, you could always rebate low and middle class money just like Bush did. If across the board spending cuts don’t actually lay off people, the economy may not get hurt that much. Democrats might get the house in a couple of years, if we can just hold out and not have a economic failure before then. The economy is cooking now, it may continue, even if we go over.

I feel that the President is not explaining to Americans, in detail how taxing the rich would increase revenue enough to pay for our many goverment expenditures. Please ask the president to explain his math to the people of this country and maybe we can understand why he is so strongly in favor of taxation on the rich.

Tell the current Republican Congress to ack like Democratic Congress did when Reagon was President. The 22min speech Reagon gave to congress after he was shot. All of congress, even Dem. gave him a standing O. And he thanks the Bipartisin congress for comprimize on working out a Budget plan. That had Cuts…..But also raised Taxes.

Tax on the wealthy compromise suggestion

Connect the tax rate on the very wealthy to the unemployment rate. If the unemployment rate goes up, so does the tax rate. If the unemployment rate goes down, the tax rate goes down too. Policies that favor the workers by reducing unemployment will then benefit the wealthy.

Taxes for 250,000

I am a physician making just above that number. I am a single parent and paying back student loans over 100,000. Forty percent of my salary is gone before I see it. I grew up in the ghetto and worked hard to get out. I am trying to help myself and my kids and now I am going to get taxed more. I can not pay for my kids college education comfortably. I am confused that Obama thinks I have a lot of money. When the number 250,000 is said, maybe he should look at what a person brings home after taxes and what school loan amounts they are paying. I work for Kaiser in California and find that I am living better than I did but I would not say I am wealthy! Just something to think about
