redesign of nuclear plants

Why can’t anyone design a nuclear plant that if it fails, it separates into a safe mode? When the reactor fails, the rods sink, float, or are pulled apart to end the cycle. Or have a large, lead block that slides down the rods separating them.
Have it built so as long as everything is working fine, it keeps going. If something goes wrong, it naturally makes itself safe

Budget solution

how about a grocery tax of 1%..everyone would have to pay it. or better yet 1cent fuel tax that everyone has to pay with no exemptions..I bet there is trillions of dollars in those 2 alone. Also, how about taking care of our domestic needs and leave the foreign countries fend for themselves? Most of these countries only want our money and they are not loyal to us. Did I mention that the whole Congress should be paying social security taxes? that would help us working class to have some money when we retire..Simple solutions if someone would just use their heads..

“WAR Fees…”

Instead of calling them “Tax Cuts” for the wealthy, why not call them “Necessary Fees for the WARS & OUR Military?”

This way, Americans will see firsthand, that the wealthy, the very rich “do not care” about our wars abroad, our military, the security of this country, etc. and they willl be shamed!!!

Flat tax for all

The only way to get the rich to pay their fair share is a fair and flat tax , no exceptions. Call the republicans bluff, make the proposal, and your will pick up conservative support for this proposal.

Let all the tax cuts expire

Adjust the withholding as you did the tax cut was granted, us the money to fund unemployment (though extended payments should be at a reduced amount – 80%, then 60% over six week periods) and works projects,

If you stand firm, the blame of logjam will be squarely on the Republicans. And it is not as if you are playing the same game of chicken – raising the tax rates through adjusting the withholding will minimally impact the economy.

Campaign Contribution Tax

In the week prior to this last mid-term election it was reported that over $4 billion dollars were spent across the U.S. If a modest 3% tax (just for a working example) were collected that would generate $120 million dollars. Some, but not all, of these expenditures might be protected by the first amendment that would bar such taxation. Now that the Supreme Court has opened the floodgates to massive capital injections into the campaign budgets, it seems like a no-brainer apply a tax.

incomes over $250K

Please stop saying incomes over $250,000, it is TAXABLE INCOME $250,000.
That is usually earnings over $330,000.
An important distinction.

Boost Volunteerism and Civic Duty

Allow volunteers of tax-exempt nonprofits a deduction on their income taxes for any documented time they volunteer based on the average hourly wage for that type of service.
Some of the possible benfits could be:
citizens would be motivated to volunteer for tax-exempt nonprofits;
nonprofits would have to provide standardized documentation of volunteer services rendered; and
nonprofit organizations could more effectively address their missions and respond to the needs in society.

Finding a new Fuel source….

It feels to me like the oil companies run the country, not even the country, they run the world.

Hybrids are good… but I’m looking to get rid of oil and gas all together!

We need this, We need to find another source because we destroy the planet everytime we drill for oil! We need to find a safer and cleaner way to run our cars, heat our houses…

I believe in you President Obama, that we’ll at least get started in looking for one. I mean look at the electric cars in California in like the early 90s I think? I don’t know, I watched a movie on it in Government class. Its wrong those cars worked fine… but they were taken away, I think with our technologies now… We can change the world.

I’m only 19, I feel I need your help to change this, because I can’t do it myself…

How much does it cost to STOP?

Have you ever thought of the fuel loss due to the dynamics of the kinetic energy of a vehicle going from motion to stop? Well I and many others have done the math. As a nation we could save a minimum of 5% and upwards to 9% of the automobile fuel being used in this country by a simple mandate of requiring all cities in the US to time the optimum speed, (not exceeding the legal speed) to the distance between traffic control signals. I am a controls engineer that is noted as one of the best in the field of motion control, and it has been calculated (along with some of the best traffic control engineers in the country) that the savings to America and to the evironment would be 1.6 BILLION dollars per day. The process is a formula that I have worked out and can be implimented with very little cost. Let me know if you need my help. Thanks
